This summer, Matt will start writing the third book of the Secret War series, entitled “The Fortress of Black Glass.” About the new project, Matt says:
‘The intended the third book in the series was to be the Traitor of Light, but this was a Dar’uka-only novel and really didn’t fit into the William Saxon story-line as neatly as Pan Macmillan wanted. It was felt it disrupted the flow of the series, so we’ve gone back to having Fortress… as the third novel. It’s going to be a pretty dark finale as books go – not every one will make it to the end. And it’s going to be epic. Very epic.  So expect enormous battles between monks and vampires, kafalas and Habsburg soldiers and even Dar’uka vs Dar’uka action.
As for the Traitor of Light, well that might come later. I still want to do a Dar’uka-only novel, and there are certain plot lines that need explaining, such as what happened to Marresca and the back stories of Tzicothe and Chow Yuen. So watch this space…

Matt and Sarah are pleased to announce that their baby boy was born in the early hours of the morning after an exhausting  labour. Daniel Kevin Curran is happy and healthy, and Matt and Sarah want to pass on their thanks to everyone who has wished the three of them well. Matt is now taking a break from the writing but should start the third Secret War novel sometime this August.
